Stephon Marbury's show needs help

Stephon Marbury's new talk show, Stars on Stars on FoxsportsNet, seems to need a little help. Initial numbers show that only 75,000 people tuned in to see last week's debut episode featuring Kobe Bryant.

We're very generous here at the View. We believe wholeheartedly in helping the needy, and that is what we intend to do today, but first we have a question.

We understand that 75,000 viewers is nothing in TV-land, but don't 75,000 people have anything better to do at 4:30 p.m. on a Friday that watch Stephon Marbury talk to other athletes? C'mon people, find a life!

But, if Stephon insists on having a show and you are one of those 75,000 folks who insist on watching, we are here to offer suggestions on ways Stephon can improve the experience. Obviously, nobody cared about Kobe Bryant. Let's go, Steph, you need guests with stuff to say.

We think you should start with Anna Benson. She has plenty of time on her hands now that hubby Kris is out for the season with an injury. And, you know she always has wonderful things to say about her experience in New York. Plus, she is much nicer to look at than you or Kobe.

After Anna, maybe you should reach out to another notorious lover of New York City, John Rocker. He doesn't have much to do these days, and I'm sure he'd be thrilled to spend some time reminiscing about his fond memories of the place.

Maybe Curt Schilling would make an appearance. He talks to everybody else. Of course, he would have to try and find some time in-between pitching for the Red Sox and posting thousands of words a day on his personal blog! Curt looks like he hasn't missed many meals lately, though, so maybe if you offered him some doughnuts!

Gary Sheffield would be happy to have a forum to trash Joe Torre and the Yankees. If you told him it was a radio show and there weren't any cameramen he would have to punch, you might even be able to get Randy Johnson to talk about how proud he was of his time in pinstripes.

Anyway, Steph, we like your sneakers and we knew your show needed some help. We're here for you.

I didn't even know Stephon Marbury had a TV show.

It's probably as successful as his 15$ blister-inducing shoes.

Shouldn't it be called ex-Stars on Stars?

And, as Norm MacDonald taught me, there's always a percentage of Nielsen viewers who fell asleep, or left the room, while the channel remains on, meaning it can be well less than 75,000. For society's sake, we can only hope.

By the way, assuming I actually start posting about the Yankees, y'all should check out MY sports blog! Buuuuuuut I probably won't get around to that till May.
