Please, Joe -- bury Krazy Kyle!

C'mon Joe, you're killing us New York Yankees fans out here! More to the point, you're killing me.

Yes, I'm talking to you Mr. Torre. I can't take this anymore! You've got to do something before I have a stroke, throw something through the screen of my beautiful 46-inch HDTV, or both.

I just cannot watch Krazy Kyle Farnsworth try like hell to implode another Yankee lead. I don't know how you can stand it, either, and I wish you would stop torturing us.

The Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays Saturday and Sunday, surviving Farnsworth's best efforts to torch much-needed Yankee victories on both days.

Joe, we know you believe in bullpen by formula, meaning certain relievers are responsible for certain innings. In your world, Farnsworth's job is to pitch the eighth inning and set up for Mariano Rivera.

Saturday, Farnsworth trudged in to 'protect' a two-run lead after the Yankees had fought back from a 3-0 deficit. He promptly surrendered a home run. Then, with two outs he surrendered a walk. He got out of the inning when catcher Jorge Posada threw out B.J. Upton trying to steal second base to end the inning.

Sunday was more of the same. The first batter to face Farnsworth hit a long double that missed being a home run by only a couple of feet. A run-scoring single pulled Tampa Bay within one. Then, with one out and a runner at second base, first baseman Andy Phillips bailed out Farnsworth, diving to snag a line drive that would have been a game-tying hit, then turning it into an inning-ending double play.

Please, Joe, we can't take it any more. At least I can't. I know this trying season has been tough on you, but you're making it tough on us, too.

You've gotta stop making us want to throw up every time the 8th inning comes around and the Yankees have a lead. It's been this way all year for Krazy Kyle. One of these days Farnsworth's teammates won't be able to perform miracles behind him, and he'll spit up a lead and cost the Yankees a game they need to win.

I'm begging you, Joe, use somebody in the 8th inning. Try Scott Proctor. Or Brian Bruney. Or Luis Vizcaino. Or Ron Villone. Maybe even newcomer Edwar Ramirez. Use a different guy for every hitter if you have to. Do anything to avoid using Farnsworth! He's the hardest-throwing batting practice pitcher in the league. Save him and his 4.58 ERA for those meaningless innings somebody has to pitch in games you are losing.

Please, Joe. Watching you in the dugout Sunday during the 8th inning I know you can't take much more of Farnsworth and the never-ending stream of messes he seems to pitch his way into, either.

Please, do us all a favor. Make it stop.
